Tali Orner has been practicing exclusively in the field of U.S. immigration law since 2006.  She focuses her practice on business immigration matters, and has advised individuals and corporate clients in a wide variety of sectors including engineering and scientific consulting, financial, non-profit, educational, information technology, government, biotech, and the performing arts.

Tali has extensive experience with routine and complex business immigration matters including Employment-Based immigrant visa petitions and applications through labor certification (PERM) and adjustment to permanent resident status and naturalization; petitions for Nonimmigrant Workers (H-1B, L-1, TN, H-3, J-1, E-2, O-1, P-1); Employment-Based First and Second Preference Immigrants (Extraordinary Ability, National Interest Waiver, Multinational Executives and Managers, EB-5 Immigrant Investors); athletes, artists and scientists of extraordinary ability;  corporate best practices, and I-9 and social security “no-match” letters.

Prior to founding Orner Law, Tali worked for two immigration law firms in Washington, DC and Tel Aviv, Israel.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in Communications from the University of Houston and her J.D. from American University’s Washington College of Law in Washington, DC.  While in law school, she worked as a law clerk at Maggio + Kattar, a prestigious boutique immigration law firm in Washington, DC and was the Co-Founder and Programming Chair of the Israel and the Law Society.  In addition, she participated in the International Human Rights Law Clinic, where she most notably successfully represented a Liberian national in an affirmative asylum claim.

Tali is licensed to practice law in the State of Maryland and is a member of the Washington, DC Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
